Guide Lines for Submitting an Article
Subject Matter:
- Only articles, cartoons, and book reviews, related to the lapidary field will be considered for publication in the Miner Matters Gazette.
- Articles may include shop tips, new materials, How to do articles, adventures from rock collecting trips, or any item that directly refers to the trade.
- Any articles which, has any portion of another article as a direct quote, must be given credit. It is better to read the article and rewrite the material in your own words and reference the article with a link or as a bibliography.
- Photos are an excellent way to enhance the description of any material or process, if you submit photos that are not your own, please include the photographers name for credit. If possible contact the photographer and obtain their permission. Please include a description about the picture. Only one picture will be used in the article unless it is a step-by-step group relating to How To Do. Additional photos for an article of travel or material will be located in the photo gallery. Submit photos by their URL address in the box provided on the submission form.
Rules:
- All articles must be submitted by using the Submission Form Link, to be eligible for reprint in the Miner Matters Gazette.
- The person submitting the material for publication is responsible for the accuracy of the content and all photograph rights. It is their responsibility to acquire permission to copy, quote, or use any excerpt from a previously written article as well as obtain permission for use of any photo not taken by the individual submitting the form. All article and photographs will be attached with, Submitted By.
- Photographs must be no larger than 500 pixels in width, Height is not a problem but the width will distort if larger than the recommended size.
- No rants, raves, or profanity! If you are unhappy with any seller, buyer, auction site, venue, or how the government is run, this is not the media with which you can vent your displeasure.
- Please no advertising articles. If you wish to advertise on Miner Matters we have very reasonable rates. Click the Advertise Here Button and decide which method best fits your budget.
- Proof read your article using the Spell Check function on you computer. Correct basic mistakes like spelling and punctuation. We understand most people are not English majors and can help with content and sentence structure. What we need is new material, new thought, and tips, which may be lost to time if we fail to pass them along.
- The Editor reserves the right to edit all articles, for spelling, punctuation and content. We reserve the right to refuse any article or photograph which does not comply the Guide Lines or may be offensive.
