On my recent buying trip, I spent my time in Arizona meeting several of my suppliers. One of my favorite sellers, Pick n Lick, took nearly all my allotted money for the year. I only made it through one quarter of his material before I realized I was over budget. I found many rare and hard to find materials, along with new materials such as Gabro, a feldspar stone with shades of lavender and black dendrites and the flash of feldspar crystals throughout the stone, Palmwood jasper from Mexico, which shows a red saginitic crystal spray in a cream colored background and Madagascar Butterfly Jasper, by far the best I have ever seen. This Butterfly jasper has the brilliant greens, yellows, blues, and pinks floating in a brecciated clear agate. Some of my other acquisitions are St. Johns flowering Agate, Arizona Petrified Wood, Medicine Bow Plume Agate, Top Quality Ocean Jasper and Sonoran Sunset Jasper. I also have an order for some very interesting new material, which should be available by the end of summer. I cannot describe it at the present due to the miners request. However as soon as this material becomes available, I will acquire some, depending on finances and availability, as to how much. Believe me this is the next hottest material to hit the market in awhile.
While traveling the highways of Arizona, I noticed several species of cacti in bloom. I was able to get some really interesting photographs, which are included in my gallery photos along with some of the rocks I purchased.
The best time was had in conversing with people who I have spoken to over the past years. The kindness extended to me was at times extraordinary. It was though I had been a long time friend and we were catching up on missed adventures. It was best described by one as, rocks are the cement that binds. This latest adventure was not just a buying trip. Much of the time was spent interacting with potential members for Dragonsaye Auctions. Several new members were signed and leads for many more were developed. I stead fast in my belief this site will become what every Rockhound dreams of, a rock related only site!
I would like to thank all who supported this idea and have gone out of their way to help to make this a reality. Without your continued support it would have taken longer to achieve this goal. We are now averaging nearly 500,000 per month. Unfortunately with the economy the way it is sales are rather slow. I expect sales to pick up in the fall as vacations end and children return to school.
Remember we are having a membership contest with a very nice prize for the member with the most referrals. Check the website flashing marquise to find more information. Together we can make this site work.
Thank you!
